When I was invited to design the first branch of the new chain of sushi restaurants called “Pai”, the client and I decided to design the place differently from other Asian restaurants and target a younger hi-tech oriented audience.
We decided to implement a modern design approach by using metal as a major element in a space that allows intimate, yet clean, inviting atmosphere. Three-dimensional wallpaper was selected to add a sense of depth to the small restaurant space and make it visually larger and impressive.
The bar in the center, forged by CNC-cut metal, concrete tiles inlay and bright lighting provide an atmosphere of a unique, new and young sushi restaurant, which does not deviate from its oriental origins, yet offers an innovative approach, along with light, healthy and social-friendly food.
With further development in mind, the design of the first branch efficiently incorporates such innovative concept as part of future success of the chain.
